Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah bayang Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan, dimulai dari bulan Mei sampai dengan Agustus 2004. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan setek nilam. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), dengan empat ulangan, tiap ulangan terdiri dari delapan perlakuan. Tiap perlakuan terdiri dari delapan tanaman. Perlakuan tersebut adalah MO (tanah top soil), Ml (tanah bakaran), M2 ( arang sekam), M3 (arang serbuk gergaji), M4 ( tanah bakaran + arang sekam), M5 (tanah bakaran + arang serbuk gergaji), M6 ( arang sekam + arang serbuk gergaji), dan M7 (tanah bakaran + arang sekam + arang serbuk gergaji). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media tanam M4 (tanah bakaran + arang sekam) memberikan pertumbuhan terbaik pada semua peubah yang diamati.
