Abstract
Maspari Island waters have high dynamics because they are influenced by the mixing of fresh water and seawater, which can affect the presence of phytoplankton in the waters. This study aimed to analyze the composition, abundance, community structure, and the relationship between phytoplankton abundance and environmental parameters. This research was conducted at 10 observation stations in February 2023. The samples taken were phytoplankton samples, water samples, and measurements of the physical and chemical parameters of the waters. Data analysis performed was composition, abundance, community structure, and PCA analysis. Based on the results of the study, 31 genera of phytoplankton were found with abundances ranging from 55-725 cells/L. The community structure in this study is the diversity index classified as medium, the uniformity index classified as high, and dominance classified low. The relationship between the abundance of phytoplankton and the physic-chemical parameters of the waters is characterized by the parameters of temperature, pH, nitrate, phosphate, and dissolved oxygen.
