Abstract

investment provides the movement of a country's economic growth. Australia is Indonesia's closest trading partner country which cooperates in trade and investment. the investment by Australia is very strong in various sectors and has broad ectomic partnerships covering 30 countries as well as a network of trade agreements, but Australian investment in Indonesia has fallen from 2018 to 2021, so the purpose of this research is to look for factors causing the decline in value. Australian investment in Indonesia. By using a qualitative data collection method, namely document-based research. Qualitative data collection methods are carried out by collecting data from previous studies, to test the validity of the data, researchers use triangulation techniques, qualitative data analysis. By using the theory of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). the value of Indonesia's interest rates from 2018 to 2021 is a factor that causes the value of Australian investment in Indonesia to fall. Indonesia's unstable economic growth from 2018 to 2021 is a factor causing a decline in the value of Australian investment in Indonesia, looking at the political policies issued by the Indonesian government from 2018-2021 and the global economic crisis which has hampered the inflow of capital from investors to invest their capital in the Indonesian market coupled with the decline that occurred in the Australian market made investors more focused on domestic growth.
