Abstract

This research is entitled "The Double Bourden Of Women Rice Farm Laborers In Mendayun Village Madang District Suku 1 East Oku Regency". The research problem disucusses how women rice farm laborers carry out their reproductive, productive, and cial roles. The purpose of this study was to find out about the double burden phenomenon that occurred in Mendayun Village Madang Suku I Disctrict East Oku Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This research uses Moser's gender theory. Data were obtained throught in-depth interviews with 10 formants, documentation and literature study. The result of this study indicate that women who work as farm laborers bear a double burden, namely reproductive roles such as sweeping, washing dishes, washing clothes, cooking, cleaning the house and taking care off all the needs of the children, produductive roles such as roles in being rice farm laborers and roles in competence development. The social roles such as the role in participating in the community of women farm works and all activities organized by the community. Keywords: women, rice farm workers, double burden
