Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the degree of fiscal decentralization and economic growth on poverty in the districts / cities of South Sumatra Province for the period 2008-2017. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Sumatra Province. The analysis technique used is panel data regression with the selected model namely Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of this study indicate that the degree of fiscal decentralization and economic growth together have a significant influence on poverty in the districts / cities of South Sumatra Province, and individually the degree of fiscal decentralization has a positive and significant effect on poverty and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on poverty. The determination coefficient is 0.775764, which means that the variable variation in poverty by 77 .57 percent can be explained by the degree of fiscal decentralization and economic growth.
