Abstract

Coal mining activities at PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk uses surface mining system methods and conventional and continuous mining equipment. Open coal mining is strongly influenced by weather factors, where weather can have an impact on mining operations. High rainfall during the rainy season can affect or hamper ongoing mining operations. The results of observations in the field, the East TAL pit is one of the TAL areas used as a hauling vehicle transport route and belt conveyor from the TSBC front pit so that there is a need for maintenance of the drainage system in the area so as not to cause obstacles in mining operations. The East TAL pit has a disposal pile area from the TSBC pit so that it has a great potential for mud to form in the area. On this basis, an optimal handling effort is needed in dealing with water and mud problems by conducting an analysis of the drainage system. From the rainfall data for the last 10 years, the runoff discharge value was 85,651.56 m3 / day using a 5-year rain reset period and a catchment area of 81.79 ha. The erosion rate value that occurred in the TSBC disposal area was 71,163.77 bcm / year and the SDR value was 0.578. Thus, the volume of sludge formed in the study area amounted to 41,150,238 bcm / year. The recommended sump volume according to Kepmen 1827 K / 30 / MEM / 2018 is 374,725.56 m3. The number of Multiflo 420 E pumps to be used is 6 units of Multiflo 420 E pumps. The number of slurry pumps used in pumping sludge is one unit with a slurry pump capacity of 883 m3 / hour, PA value of 90%, UA value of 77%, pumping working hours for 8 hours, and daily productivity of slurry pump of 4,895.32 m3 / day to pump sludge as much as 75% of the total sludge formed of 47481,096 m3. The working duration of the slurry pump to pump the sludge out for 9 days. The slurry pump used is a rental pump, so the pump rental price to move sludge is IDR 655,808,898.6. The calculation of the pump efficiency value needs to record lost time such as refueling, repair, cooling down, and so on to detail how much time is lost. There needs to be supervision of the work efficiency of the slurry pump so as not to experience losses due to using rental pumps.
