Abstract

This research is a descriptive study was done using qualitative methods. The problems in this research were what was the process of ekranization from the aspect of shrinking, the agreement and changes in various characters and characterizations, settings, and the flow of the novels of Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia in the form of the film Assalamualaikum Beijing by Guntur Soeharjanto. This research aimd to describe the process of ekranization from the shrinking aspect, approve, and change the various characters and characterizations, settings, and the flow of the novel to the film Assalamualaikum Beijing. The novel Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia and the film Assalamualaikum Beijing by Guntur Soeharjanto were used to collect the data. The data source in this study is the novel Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia and the film Assalamualaikum Beijing by Guntur Soeharjanto. The result obtained werw the existence of the process of ekranization from the aspect of shrinking, the agreement, and changes in various characters and characterizations, settings, and the flow of the novels of Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia in the form of the film Assalamualaikum Beijing by Guntur Soeharjanto. Overall, the shrinkage is done only to characters and characterizations, settings, and the flow that are considered not too important. Addition of characters and characterizations, setting, and the flow are still relevant as a whole. As for the cahnges in various made to connect between event that have experienced and shrinkage or addition so as not to deviate from what is reflected in the novels. ekranization, novels, films
