Abstract
Cooking oil is one of the nine staple food needed by household in their daily life for cooking. Before purchasing cooking oil, consumers will consider several attributes attached to the product and adjust it to their individual preferences. The objectives of this study were: (1) to estimate the amount of consumption of packaged cooking oil by household in Bandung City, (2) to analyze household consumer preferences for attributes of packaged cooking oil in Bandung City, (3) to analyze the order of the most important attributes considered by consumers in purchasing packaged cooking oil in Bandung City. This research was conducted in Januari 2023 covering 50 households purchasing packaged cooking oil. The method used in this research was survey with accidental sampling technique. The research results obtained were: (1) the average consumption of packaged cooking oil in Bandung City was 4,84 litre/month, (2) packaged cooking oil preferred by household consumers in Bandung City were Fortune brand, with a range price Rp18.000-Rp24.000/litre, clear golden yellow in color, and refill/plastic packaging with a size of 2 litre, (3) the attributes of packaged cooking oil most considered by household consumers in Bandung City in purchasing packaged cooking oil consecutively were clarity, color, price, package size, nutritional information, brand, food taste, and type of packaging.
