Abstract

Copra processing is one form of agricultural business that processes coconut into copra. This business has been run by the owner of the copra business since 1985, and in 2017 the business was passed on to the next generation until now. The objectives of this study are (1) Calculating the income received during this copra business. (2) Describe the feasibility of copra business based on technical aspects, marketing aspects, and financial aspects. This research was conducted in Sri Tiga Village, Sumber Marga Telang Sub-district, Banyuasin Regency from January to March 2023. The sampling method applied in this study was purposive sampling method. The data used were primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the copra processing system used by business owners in the production process has several stages that must be passed, namely land preparation, provision of raw materials, splitting coconut fruit, prying coconut fruit and packaging copra. The results of the financial feasibility analysis of the copra business can be concluded that it is financially feasible. The results of the copra business analysis are characterized by an NPV value of Rp391,991,331.27; IRR 14.15 per cent; Gross B/C Ratio 1.21; Net B/C Ratio 1.41; Payback Period 2 years; BEP unit 3,285.56; BEP Rupiah Rp162,795,371.65; R/C ratio 6.32. Based on the sensitivity test, it can be concluded that the copra business is feasible to run, by looking at two scenarios of change, namely if there is a 5 percent increase in operational costs and a 6 percent decrease in selling prices.
