Abstract

PT Bukit Asam is a company engaged in the coal mining industry. The company is located in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. The research was conducted because the research area has heavy rainfall and on the north side of the Mahayung North Air Laya Mine (TAL Mahayung) pit is an old dump area. Mining is carried out at the Mahayung TAL pit using the open pit method so that the potential for mud to settle on the sump floor is very high plus runoff water that enters has the potential to inundate the mining front. Mine drainage system analysis is important to prevent problems that occur due to inappropriate mine draina ge system planning. This study plans the construction of an open channel using a geomembrane on the outer North side of the boundary with a length of 1,777.6 m. Analysis of runoff water discharge includes: total runoff water discharge of 12.26 m3/second; runoff water debit served by ring canal of 2.1 m3/second; inpit runoff water discharge of 10.20 m3/second. The actual erosion rate value is 20,920.51 tons/ha/year with a sediment delivery ratio of 0.66 so that a potential sediment rate value of 13,843.9 tons/ha/year is obtained. The results of open canal analysis using manning where obtained recommendations for a trapezoidal cross-section of the open canal and the dimensions of the open canal are as follows: upper length 2.263 m, lower length 0.663 m and channel height 0.96 m. The recommended volume of the holding pond is 250,545.73 m3. The analysis was carried out to obtain pump design discharge and pump requirements, obtained a planned pump discharge of 320 liters/second at 1400 RPM and a pump requirement at the study site of 3 units.
