Abstract

This research entitled "Economic Development of Tin Pewter Crafts Producers in Pangkal Pinang City, Bangka Belitung Year 2005-2015". The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the initial development, how is the economic development, and what is the relationship between the craftsmen and PT Timah Tbk in Pewter crafts in the city of Pangkalpinang. This study uses research procedures with historical methods, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and literature studies. Interviews were conducted with several craftsmen, retirees from PT Timah Tbk, high school teachers, local communities and related parties. The approach used in this study consists of three approaches, namely the sociological approach, the economic approach, and the geographical approach. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the Pewter craft in the city of Pangkalpinang continues to grow every year, especially in the period 2005-2015. One of these developments is the increasing variety of handicraft products produced each year, the increasing use of production tools, such as molds, and the increasing income of Pewter craftsmen in the city of Pangkalpinang.
