Abstract

The research is entitled “Leadership Style of the Head of the Palembang City Archives and Libraries Service”. This study aims to find out what leadership style is dominantly applied by the Archives and Libraries Office of Palembang City. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection in this study comes from interviews, observation and documentation studies. This research uses Leadership Indicator Theory by (Lisa Pramita, 2017) which is divided into 4 (Four) dimensions, namely Decision-Making Ability, Motivating Ability, Communication Ability, and Responsibility. The analysis of the results of this study shows that the leadership style adopted by the Head of the Palembang City Archives and Library Service to his subordinates uses a determine work plans related to the group. The leader as a moderator, does not act like an authoritarian leader. Subordinates are used in the right conditions to make everything work more effectively and directed according to the group’s vision and mission. On the one hand, the Head of the Palembang City Archives and Library Service is aware that comfort in the office will support employee performance so that as much as possible the Head of Service embraces all employees so that they are comfortable at work by applying a simple “Human Relations” pattern to employees.
