Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking ability of children in group B with puppet media at PAUD Karunia Ilahi Prabumulih. This research is classroom action research (PTK) using the Kemis & Taggart model which consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects and sources of data in this study were 11 children consisting of 3 boys and 8 girls. Techniques for collecting data from child observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using statistics from quantitative descriptive analysis. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings. The results of data analysis showed that there was an increase in the speaking ability of children in group B at PAUD Karunia Ilahi Prabumulih. Cycle 1 was higher than the pre cycle, which was 18.18%, which was in the developing category according to expectations (BSH) while in the pre cycle only 9.09% were in the developing category as expected (BSH). Cycle 2 is higher than cycle 1 which is 72.72% which is in the developing category according to expectations (BSH) and 18.18% which are in the very good developing category (BSB). Based on the above, it can be concluded that through wayang media can improve the speaking ability of group B children in PAUD Karunia Ilahi Prabumulih. This research is declared appropriate for use.
