Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the growth and production of Situ Patenggang and Inpara 8 rice varieties with BC1F1 accession after experiencing submergence stress in the vegetative phase. This research was carried out in greenhouse and water tank of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from August to December 2022. This study used a Split Plot Design with 3 replication. The main plot is a submerged treatment (S) consisting of S0 = Control treatment (not submerged) and S1 = Submerged stress at 21 DAP. The subplots consisted of V1 = Situ Patenggang variety, V2 = Inpara 8 variety and V3 = BC1F1 accession. Analysis of variance was used and followed by a 5% LSD to determine differences among the treatments. Parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of tillers per clump, leaf greenness level, age of flowering, age of harvest, number of panicles per clump, panicle length, number of grain per clump, grain weight per clump, number of grain per panicle, weight of grain per panicle, weight of 100 grains and percentage of empty grain. The growth and production of BC1F1 accession from crossing of rice varieties Situ Patenggang and Inpara 8 has not shown optimal results, especially in submerged stress treatment.
