Abstract

The objectives research were to identify the characteristics of rice farming on swampy land, Analyze difference amount of labor on rice farming with the burn and zero burn land processing, and to analyze the difference of revenue and income gain of rice farming in Arisan Jaya Village west Pemulutan district. The method used in this objective research is survey method. The sampling method used in this study is a simple random sampling method, by using the Slovin formula to determine the number of samples objective researched. Characteristics of rice farming on sampy land with burn and zero burn land processing includes capital where the capital 100 percent is obtained from own capital, the ownership land 81,8 percent that is farmers have their own land and 18,2 percent farmers as tenants, land treatment processing involves poisoning the grass; ngelolon (pulling out the grass), structuring land to rice farming is usually located in the middle swamp land area, the labor of the rice farming used in include own family and outside the family, and marketing activities carried out by farmers with collecting traders. Output of the labor on rice farming in one production there is significant difference. The farm income earned in one production by the burned method is Rp 10,374,036,- for a hectare in a year, while the zero burn method is Rp 16,262,759,- for a hectare in a year, it means that the income is significantly difference.
