Abstract

Because of the need for the application of energy efficient and as it goes growing crisis of renewable energy resources, the necessary equipment to save energy in some form so that there will be no energy is wasted. For example, by using a device that can store energy and then be able to release it back like a flywheel (flywheel). At hydroelectric plants and micro hydro power plant flywheel can work because there is heavy influence that can produce energy and release it. The energy generated by the rotation of the flywheel is an energy that can reduce the decline due to lower turbine rotation speed of water flow when the flow through the turbine so that the turbine rotation is not decreased significantly. However, in this thesis the author to do so by installing the flywheel on the prototype power plant pikohidro in order to determine the outcome of each trial through the faucet that has been determined, and each uses a load of LED lights 220 volt 9 watts so it can be seen the difference in voltage and power generated when using flywheel and no. The results obtained voltage when not using weights to use a flywheel 140 volts, 120 volts and 60 volts. Then when coupled load, the average data obtained when using a flywheel of 1.3953 watts, for which no use flywheel at 1,334 watts.
