Abstract

The lightweight concrete could be produced by making the air voids in the concrete, that was providing the substitution aggregate or by giving the mixture filling in the concrete. One of the substitution aggregates could be derived from the utilization of rubber’s tree waste, which was the rubber seeds. This study was using the experimental method and the discussion was based on the laboratory test datas. The variations of the using rubber seed into the concrete mixture among others were 25%, 50%, and 75% towards the volume of the specimen. The size of the specimen which was used in this study was 15cm x 15cm x 15cm. The test of the compressive strength of concrete was doing when it was on the aged of 7*, 21d, 28th days. On this research was using additional material (admixtures) that was Conplast WP421 with 1,5 1/m3 levels. The use of this additional material was aimed to obtain a better quality of the concrete. The parameters of the test in this study was aimed to determine how far the lost of weight and compressive strength of concrete that was obtained which used the rubber seeds as the coarse substitutions aggregate and to know how big the effect of the admixtures on the compressive strength of concrete which produced. On this research, the result from the data processing of heavy and lightweight concrete compressive strength which was used rubber seed showed that more the rubber seed was used then the concrete would be more lightweight and the compressive strength of the concrete would be decrease. The use of the additional material Conplast WP421 could incrcase the compressive strength of the concrete up to 18,94%.
