Abstract

This study aims to determine what rituals are carried out in the release keratak on the community of the Great Wood. In this study the population is keratak (ambassadors) and traditional leaders who numbered 3 respondents. Sampling was done by using nonprobability sampling technique by using sample saturation that is sample determination technique if all member of population used as sample, that is amounted to 3 respondents. Data collection techniques used are documentation and interviews. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the two data collection techniques, it can be concluded that there are 4 ritual processes performed in the release keratak in the great wooden society is a ritual process thet includes Beintaran Ritual, Ritual of Self-Cleaning, Yasinan Ritual and Ritual Sedekah. Keratak and his family believe that carrying out the ritual will bring salvation and also success to the keratak as they operate as ambassadors at their destination.
