Abstract

Musi River has 21 watersheds in Palembang. The Batang watershed is one of the watersheds that often experiences floods in Palembang. Batang watershed is located in Kalidoni District, Palembang City. Kalidoni District has a population of 126,207 people in 2021 with an area of 27.92 km2 where Kalidoni District is a flood-prone area with a high classification. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to analyze the flood discharge of the Batang watershed of Palembang City using the Rational method. The rain data used was obtained from the BMKG online site of Kenten Palembang station. To determine the extent of land use is done using the ArcGIS program. Based on the match test of frequency analysis with the probability distribution of normal, log normal, gumbel and log pearson III, it was found that the rainfall probability distribution of gumbel can be used in the calculation of flood discharge in 2012 and 2021. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be seen that flood discharge in the Batang watershed of Palembang City has increased from 2012 to 2021, namely, in the 2-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 13.11%, in the 5-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 26.53%, in the 10-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 33.01%, In the 25-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 39.24%, in the 50-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 43.86%, and in the 100-year anniversary period there was an increase in flood discharge by 47.44%. The factors that caused the increase in flood discharge were caused by the increase in rainfall intensity from 2012 to 2021 and changes in land use from 2012 to 2021.
