Abstract

This research is a descriptive research which aims to describe students problem solving skill using PMRI approach on circle. The subjects of this research are the VIII grade of SMP N 17 Palembang consisting 32 students. The learning process will be customized with the principle and characteristic of PMRI aproach. The technique used for collecting data of this research is an written test wich includes 3 essay questions. Based on the research result, students problem solving skill on circle especially in the sub material relation of the center angle, circumference, arc lenght, and area of juring by using PMRI approach is categorized high with the details as the follow: 6 students or 18,75 % who have problem solving skill with category very high, 15 students or 46,88 % who have problem solving skill with category high, 7 students or 21,87% who have problem solving skill with category medium, 4 people or 12,5% who have problem solving skill with category low, and there is not any student who have problem solving skill with category very low.
