Abstract

Research on the Selectivity of Drifting Gill Net Fishing Equipment Against Croacker in Sungsang and Payung Island Waters, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province in December 2022-January 2023. The purpose of the study was to obtain the catch, size and method of catching Croacker to determine the selectivity of drift gill net fishing gear with mesh size treatment of 2.25 and 3 inches, describing the selectivity curve of drift gill nets against Croacker with the size of the nets used. Fish sampling experimental fishing method by determining the fishing area following fishermen's fishing operations. The results of this study showed that Croacker (Panna microdon) were caught as many as 108 heads and Croacker (Pennahia pawak) as many as 50 heads. Croacker (Panna microdon and Pennahia pawak) have a long grade hose of 9.8-32.5 cm and a girth class hose of 3-8 cm. Fish were gilled at mesh sizes of 2.25 and 3 inches as many as 40 (66.25%). Based on a more selective selectivity curve, the mesh size is 2.25 inches with the S(L) ratio of Croacker (Panna microdon) which is 0.9902 and Croacker (Pennahia pawak) which is 0.9166.
