Abstract
Research entitled Consumptive Behavior Due to Online Promotion on the TikTok Account @lindakosmetik_plg in FISIP Students at Sriwijaya University. The problems studied in this research are forms of consumptive behavior due to online promotions on the TikTok account @lindakosmetik_plg on FISIP Sriwijaya University students and factors causing students to engage in consumptive behavior. The purpose of this research was to analyze and describe the consumptive behavior of FISIP students at Sriwijaya University due to online promotions on the Tiktok account @lindakosmetik_plg. The research method used descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This research uses the theory of 'Conspicuous Consumption' by Thorstein Veblen. The data in this research were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study found that the form of consumptive behavior due to online promotions in Sriwijaya University FISIP students, namely; (1) Shopping for Similar Items with Different Brands, (2) Shopping for Goods because of Prestige, (3) Shopping for Goods because of Attractive Packaging. The factors causing students to engage in consumptive behavior are (1) Watching Content, (2) Watching Live Streaming (Live Broadcasts), (3) Attractive Offers or Discounts, (4) Latest Products.
