Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and reliability of the three-tier diagnostic test instrument on the immune system material used to identify the achievement of understanding among high school students in Palembang City. This research is development research (Research and Development) using the Treagust method. The material developed was guided by Campbell's biology textbook and data collection techniques through documentation, interviews, and tests. The results showed that the theoretical validity of the test instrument through CVR and CVI was 0.98, and the results of the empirical validity analysis through the SPSS V25 application showed that the 20 items developed had a rcount value greater than rtable. This shows that the test instrument developed is a valid instrument. The test instrument has a reliability value of 0.832, which means it is reliable. The test results of the test instrument showed that the achievement of understanding of high school students in class XI Science in Palembang City, namely having an understanding of the concept of the material of the immune system by 16.50%, misconceptions by 69.41%, and not understanding the concept by 14.10%. The results of this study are expected to be used by teachers to determine the right learning activity plan so that it can improve understanding and minimize misconceptions that occur in students.
