Abstract

This research examines the social capital network applied in the lives of cassava farmers in Permata Baru Village, North Indralaya District, South Sumatra during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to examine the application of social capital values that have become the success of cassava farmers in surviving during the COVID-19 pandemic in Permata Baru Village, North Indralaya District, South Sumatra. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method with a case study research strategy. The determination of informants in this study was carried out purposively, which then obtained 10 main informants and 3 supporting informants. Data in this study were collected by conducting observations, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that cassava farmers apply social network capital by establishing cooperative relationships, maintaining existing relationships and strengthening relationships with the surrounding community so that during the COVID-19 pandemic they can obtain economic benefits and social benefits to survive.
