Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of application of liquid organic fertilizer from durian skin waste to the growth and yield of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) Servo Variety. This research was conducted from December to February 2023in Demang Lebar Daun, Ilir Barat 1 District, Palembang city, (2°54'44.1"S 104°37'33.4"E). This study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications (blocks) and two factors, namely; 1) NPK fertilizer with 2 levels of treatment, K1 = 4 g/polybag and K2 = 8 g/polybag; 2) Liquid organic fertilizer of durian skin waste with 4 treatment levels, D0 = Control, D1 = 50 ml/polybag, D2 = 75 ml/polybag, D3 = 100 ml/polybag. Each treatment unit consisted 4 plants, so there were 96 plants of thetotal. The observation data were analyzed by using analysis of varianceand continued with BNT test. Parameters observed consisted of plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight of fruit, dry weight of fruit, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, flowering age, leaf area, the greenness of the leaves, fruit weightper plant, fruit diameter, number of branches. The results of the study showed that the best dose of liquid organic fertilizer for durian skin waste was 75 ml/polybag (D2), while the best dose of NPK fertilizer was 4 g/polybag (K1), and application of liquid organic fertilizer from durian skin waste could reduce the use of NPK fertilizer.
