Abstract

DAHLIA SIREGAR. The Effect of Differences in Blade Rotation Speed (RPM) on the Performance of Animal Feed Chopping Machines with Different Types of Materials (Supervised by TRI TUNGGAL). This study aims to determine the performance of the animal feed chopper using various rotational speeds of the blade shaft and various types of materials. The data processing method of this study used a randomized factorial block design (RAKF) with two treatment factors, namely factor (A) blade shaft rotation speed (rpm) without load factor (B) type of material. Each factor consisted of three treatments. Treatment levels of blade shaft rotation speed consist of 1134 rpm, 1170 rpm and 1222 rpm. While the level of treatment of the type of material consists of benggala grass, bone grass and water hyacinth. Parameters observed in this study were the effective capacity of the machine (kg/hour), the yield of choppers (%), and the uniformity of chopped yields (%). The results of this study indicate that the highest effective capacity value of the machine in the A3B3 treatment at a rotation speed of 1222 rpm with water hyacinth material is 80.38 kg/hour. The highest yield of enumeration (%) was found in the A2B2 treatment at a rotation speed of 1170 rpm with belulang grass, namely 95.00%. While the parameter of uniformity of chopped results that met the SNI requirements for livestock feed was highest in the A3B1 treatment using a blade shaft rotation speed of 1222 rpm with Benggala grass material, namely 45.08%
