Abstract

Daerah penelitian berada pada Desa Talang Akar, Kecamatan Merapi Selatan, Kabupaten Lahat, Sumatera Selatan. Keberagaman Formasi, adanya struktur geologi dan kondisi morfologi pada daerah Merapi selatan sangat menarik untuk dilakukan penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian berupa studi litelatur, observasi lapangan, analisa laboratorium dan analisa studio. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi geologi seperti stratigrafi, geomorfologi, struktur geologi daerah penelitian, dan menentukan mekanisme pengendapan batupasir Formasin Muaraenim. Setelah dilakukan analisa terhadap data yang di dapatkan dilapangan, terdapat 3 bentuk lahan pada daerah penelitian, yaitu Perbukitan Gelombang Kuat (DK), Perbukitan Gelombang Lemah (DL) dan Badan Sungai. Data dilapangan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 Formasi yang berada pada daerah penelitian, yaitu Formasi Gumai, kemudian di atasnya terendapkan secara selaras Formasi Airbenakat dan terakhir terendapkan Formasi Muara Enim secara selaras diatas Formasi Airbenakat. Berdasarkan analisa stereografis, terdapat struktur Lipatan Antiklin yang bernama Antiklin Talang Sawah dengan orientasi relatif barat – timur, dengan jenis lipatan Upright Horizontal Fold. Analisa penampang stratigrafi terukur dan analisa granulometri menunujukkan bahwa batupasir Formasi Muaraenim mengalami mekanisme traksi, saltasi, dan suspensi.
