Abstract

Government expected to socialize the use of LPG gas cylinders to overcome the accident rate. In addition to socialization from the government, testing of LPG cylinders using the Solidworks application can also be carried out to see the pressure that is safe to use on LPG cylinders with a capacity of 50 kg. This study is intended to determine the safe pressure for 50 kg LPG cylinders for daily use through Solidworks software simulations using the Finite Element Method and knowing the amount of pressure that can cause tubes to reach a critical state, to provide knowledge for the public about tube pressure safety. A pressure vessel is a closed tube with a function as a reservoir. JIS G3116 SG295 steel plate material is used as a tube constituent. The test used Solidworks simulation with the Finite Element Method applied. The test was carried out with three major pressures, namely 18.6 kg/cm2, 31 kg/cm2, and 110 kg/cm2. The pressure of 18.6 kg/cm2 is a safe pressure and is used as the operational pressure of the tube. Obtained critical pressure tube with a pressure of 43.1154 kg/cm2.
