Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to describe (1) a series of traditional wedding processions of the Komering tribe of South Sumatra; (2) the values of local wisdom in the traditional Komering wedding tradition of South Sumatra. The research method is using descriptive method. Data collection techniques using documentation, interviews, and observation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the analysis of data from documentation, interviews, and observations, the findings show that there are several stages in the Komering tribe's traditional wedding procession series. The procession is divided into three stages, namely (1) the stage before the wedding ceremony: bhupodok, mancikko cawa, pangatu, lifeak, and kebayan; (2) the stages at the time of the wedding: mangian, contract, carrying kebayan, greeting, and giving adok/jajuluk; (3) stages after the wedding ceremony: onggokan/jumput gimon and sanjau tedok. The values of local wisdom contained in the traditional wedding traditions of the Komering tribe of South Sumatra are aesthetic values, religious values, social values, and economic values.
