Abstract
This research aims to develop a discovery-based learning package on the impact of forest and land fires that is valid and practical for student learning. This research uses the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were students of classes VII 2 and VII 3 at SMP N 6 Indralaya Utara, with 27 students in class VII 2 and 16 students in class VII 3, as well as two expert validators. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires for validating the learning package, and questionnaires for students’ practicality towards the use of discovery-based learning packages. The results of this study are a learning package on the impact of forest and land fires that have been validated by two validators with a Kappa Coefficient value of 1 in the perfect category. The results of the practical criteria of 91,4% in the small group trial and 81,3% in the large group trial. Therefore, the discover-based learning package is feasible and can be used because it has met the valid and practical criteria.
