Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of training using rubber tires on sickle kick speed in extracurricular students of Pencak Silat at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir. This study used a sample of 30 students with a quasi-experimental method in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of data processing showed that in the pretest, 20 kicks were obtained as the largest data, while the smallest data was obtained as 10 kicks. On the other hand, the posttest obtained 22 kicks as the largest data and the smallest data obtained 12. After students did exercises using rubber tires for 6 weeks, the results of the information hypothesis test from measured calculations "t-test" obtained results of 6,375. It is noted from the distribution table t with dk (30-2) shows that the level of certainty is 95% (0.05). Standard speculation testing recognizes H_1 is calculated (6,357) t-table (1.70) there is a large difference between the pretest and posttest. the test with theory H_0 was rejected and speculation H_1was acknowledged, the articulation of H_1 was "There is an effect of training using rubber tires on the speed of the pencak silat sickle kick for male students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir.
