Abstract

Lebak swamps are swamps whose inundation is not affected by tides but is affected by rainwater and overflow of river water. Efforts to utilize lebak swamp land will still face a number of obstacles, but lebak swamp land is an alternative for crop production areas. It is possible that the lebak swampland will become the largest food barn in South Sumatra. Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the rice production centers in South Sumatra. The results of this study are expected to increase rice production yields and aim to optimize soil pH in the lebak swampland of Pelabuhan Dalam Village. This research was carried out in Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra in January 2023. This research used a survey method with the help of a 1:5000 scale map. There were 5 sample points which were taken by grid with a depth of 0-30 cm and each point represented 5 ha so that the study area was 25 ha. The pH analysis was carried out using two methods, namely: PUTR method and Lab Test. The results of the soil pH analysis using the PUTR method were 3-4 with very acidic criteria for all sample points, while the results of the analysis with the Lab Test had the same criteria for all sample points, namely: very acidic but had various pH values: T1 4.09; T2 4.14; T3 4.29; T4 4.21; and T5 4.40. After the research was carried out, the number of agricultural lime recommendations was obtained based on laboratory test methods to increase the pH in the lebak swamp land of Pelabuhan Dalam Village, at T1 it was recommended to provide dolomite lime as much as 4.9 tons/ha; T2 4.6 tonnes/ha; T3 and T4 4.3 tonnes/ha and T5 4.2 tonnes/ha with an average amount of 4.4 tonnes/ha. Whereas the PUTR method has uniform agricultural lime recommendations at all soil sample points, namely 0.5 tons/ha for each point. Keywords: Chalk, Soil pH, Swamps
