Abstract

Kemiringan lereng merupakan faktor yang sangat menentukan topografi suatu daerah. Kondisi lahan perkebunan kelapa sawit salah satunya menyangkut dari topografi. Lereng memegang peranan penting dalam pembentukan dan perkembangan tanah melalui erosi dan pengendapan. Derajat kemiringan menentukan laju aliran dan volume air permukaan sedangkan posisi lereng menentukan laju erosi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi status kesuburan fisika dan kimia tanah pada berbagai posisi lereng perkebunan kelapa sawit Kebun Mentari Kulim PT. PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk. Musi Rawas Utara, Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Observasi lahan dilakukan di Kebun Mentari Kulim PT. PP London Sumatera Indonesia Tbk. Musi Rawas Utara, Sumatera Selatan. Teknik sampling dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling berdasarkan posisi lereng (upper slope, middle slope dan lower slope) pada kemiringan yang sama. Peubah yang diamati di laboratorium adalah sifat fisik tanah (bulk density, permeabilitas, tekstur tanah) dan kimia tanah (pH, C-Organik, N-total, K-dd, P-tersedia). Hasil analisis uji t menunjukan bahwa penanaman kelapa sawit di lahan miring pada posisi lereng yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap sifat fisika tanah. Pada sifat kimia, posisi lereng berpengaruh nyata terhadap P-tersedia pada perbandingan posisi lereng atas (upper) dan posisi lereng bawah (lower), dan tidak berpengaruh nyata pada nilai pH, N-total, P2O5¬, K-dd dan C-organik.
