Abstract

Air rawa memiliki potensi untuk digunakan sebagai media budidaya ikan, namun terkendala oleh rendahnya nilai pH air berkisar 3,4-5,0. Nilai pH yang optimum untuk pertumbuhan ikan patin siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus) yaitu 6,5-8,5. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan upaya untuk menaikkan pH air rawa menggunakan kapur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik kapur dolomit dalam upaya meningkatkan pH air rawa sebagai media pemeliharaan ikan patin siam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan dan Kolam Percobaan, Program Studi Budidaya Perairan, Jurusan Perikanan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya pada bulan Januari hingga Februari 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu 0 mg L-1 (D0), 12,5 mg L-1 (D1), 25 mg L-1 (D2), 37,5 mg L-1 (D3), dan 50 mg L-1 (D4). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis 37,5 mg L-1 (D3) merupakan hasil terbaik yang mampu mengoptimalkan pH air rawa 4,8 menjadi 7,6, menghasilkan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak 3,62 g, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak 2,40 cm dan kelangsungan hidup ikan 82,2 %.
