Abstract
Flat slab is a monolithically constructed reinforced concrete slab that is directly supported by columns, without the use of beams that aim to transfer the load directly to the supporting columns placed under the slab. Flat slab structures with opening in the column area are common in flat slab construction projects that function for the purpose of crossing piping installations. This flat slab research uses geopolymer concrete material which is environmentally friendly concrete and better resists corrosion of reinforcing steel than ordinary conventional concrete. The purpose of this research is to analyze the performance of geopolymer concrete flat slab with a variety of opening. Modeling along with monotonic loading of the flat slab structure was done with the help of Microsoft Excel program and ANSYS program analyzed by finite element method. At the beginning of the research, the experimental test results were verified with the analysis results of the ANSYS program. Then the flat slab structure with geopolymer concrete material was analyzed with the analysis results in the form of load-deflection graphs, stress contours, displacement contours, ductility, stiffness, and energy dissipation of the flat slab structure. The research was continued with variations in the dimensions, position, and number of openings adjacent to the column in the flat slab structure to obtain the best opening variation. The results showed that geopolymer concrete is able to withstand shear well to be applied as a material forming a flat slab structure. The use of flat slab structure with small dimensions and number of openings and the position of openings in the direction of the larger side of the column can provide better shear resistance in flat slab structures.
