Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of using natural PGR and stripping the base skin of rose cuttings that can form new roots and shoots. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Utara, South Sumatra. The study began in December 2023 until March 2023. The study used 2 treatment factors, consisting of factor giving and finished in natural plant growth regulation (PGR) (Z) with of 3 levels, namely Z1= control treatment, Z2= shallot, dan Z3= coconut water. The second factor was stripping the skin at the base of the cuttings (P) with 2 levels, namely P1 = control, the skin under the cuttings was not peeled and P2 = the skin under the cuttings was peeled 1 cm long. The results showed that the treatment using coconut water gave the best results, namely increasing the percentage of live cuttings, the number of roots and root length while the stripping of the base skin of the cuttings produced a higher number of roots.
