Abstract
This research was conducted to determine collaborative governance in the development of child-friendly cities. The increase in violence against children in South Sumatra Province has made the Government strive to protect children for the fulfillment of children's rights by developing child-friendly cities. The development of decent cities is a cross-sectoral issue which means that the responsibility for its implementation is not only carried by one party but many parties who will provide coordination, synchronization, and synergy with multi-stakeholders. The South Sumatra Provincial Government formed a KLA task force team to assist in the development of child-friendly cities. The establishment of KLA tasks makes stakeholders cooperate on these issues. The theory used in this study uses theories from Ansell & Gash (2007) with four dimensions, namely initial conditions, institutional design, facilitative leadership, and collaborative processes. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study reveal that collaborative governance in the development of child-friendly cities in South Sumatra Province is still not optimal. This is because there is still a lack of face-to-face dialogue, not yet the maximum role of leadership in facilitating dialogue, the absence of a special budget in collaboration and the absence of direct involvement from the community or institutions that help collaboration. Although the provisional results can lead South Sumatra Province to get the title of Decent Child Province (Provila).
