Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of biofertilizer application on the control of stem borer pests (Chilo sacchariphagus) in sugarcane plants that have been carried out in November-April 2023 on PTPN land in the Cinta Manis District. The method used is the insitu experimental method by observing the percentage of pest attacks, and the intensity of pest attacks on sugarcane plants, both on the leaves and on the stems. Data analysis was used to determine the inhibition zone of the variation of biofertilizer concentrations using the One Way ANOVA test. The results of the study on sugarcane leaves showed a significant effect on the percentage of Chilo sacchariphagus pest attack with the value of Fcount> Ftable (a = 5%), namely 6,410 > 2,656. However, there was no significant effect on the intensity of Chillo sacchariphagus pest attack on sugarcane leaves with the value of Fcount < Ftable (a — 0.05), namely 2,391 < 2,656.. Meanwhile, the results of research on sugarcane stems showed a significant effect on the percentage of Chilo sacchariphagus pest attack on sugarcane stems with the value of Fcount > Ftable (a = 5%), namely 3,689 > 2,670. And there was no significant effect on the intensity of Chillo sacchariphagus pest attack on sugarcane stems with the value of Fcount < Ftable (a=0.05), namely 2,425 > 2,670. For the optimal effect of biofertilizer application on the control of Chilo saccariphagus pests, namely in the 200% treatment.
