Abstract

The emergence of the Covid-19 Pandemic made the agricultural sector abnormal, causing a crisis that affected the level of welfare of farmer households. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the difference in income of swamp rice farmers in Pelabuhan Dalam Village before and during the Covid-19 Pandemic, (2) to analyze changes in household welfare rice farmers in Pelabuhan Dalam Village due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and (3) to identify strategies for swamp rice farmers in dealing it the impact of the pandemic. The location selection is done intentionally (purposive). The method used is a survey method. The research was conducted in February 2023 with a total of 45 respondents. The sampling method used is the Simple Random Sampling method. The data collected are primary data and secondary data. Methods of data processing using mathematical calculations and analyzed by t-test (Paired Sample T-test). The results of this study are (1) Farmers' income in Pelabuhan Dalam Village during the Covid-19 pandemic was lower than before the Covid-19 pandemic before. (2) The exchange rate for rice farmers in Pelabuhan Dalam Village before the Covid-19 Pandemic was at a prosperous category and during the Covid-19 Pandemic was at a the prosperous category. Then for the level of welfare of rice farmer households in Pelabuhan Dalam Village it shows that there has been a change due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. (3) Rice farmers in Pelabuhan Dalam Village carry out active strategies, passive strategies, and network strategies with an average low criteria entry strategy with scores of 18,46.
