Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa SMA pada materi hukum Newton tentang gerak. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel berjumlah 30 siswa di kelas XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Muara Padang. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan soal tes pilihan ganda beralasan dan uraian dengan jumlah 12 butir soal yang terdiri dari 4 soal dengan kategori kemampuan menganalisis, 6 soal kategori kemampuan mengevaluasi dan 2 soal dengan kategori kemampuan mencipta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, persentase kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa tergolong sedang dengan persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 45%. Dari ketiga dimensi proses berpikir, rata-rata persentase kemampuan siswa pada indikator menganalisis (C4) didapati rata-rata persentase 54% dengan kategori sedang, pada indikator mengevaluasi (C5) didapat rata-rata 60% dengan kategori sedang. Sedangkan pada indikator mencipta (C6) diperoleh rata-rata 15% dengan kategori sangat rendah.
