Abstract

The purpose of thisresearch wasto determine the growth and yield of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) as Intercrops of oil palm plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) given as empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm and sugar cane filter cake. This research was carried out at the oil palm research plantation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra (3°13'08.7"S 104°38'19.6"E). The research was conducted from November 2022 to February 2023. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 treatment and 3 blocks. In each experiment unit there were 40 plants and 6 plants as sample, the size of the treatment plot was 1 m x 2 m. Treatments used in the research: K0 = Control (NPK fertilizer 90 g/plot), K1 = 500 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm, K2 = 500 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm and 200 g/plot sugarcane filter cake, K3 = 1000 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm, K4= 1000 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm and 200 g/plot of sugar cane filter cake, K5 = 1500 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm, K6 =1500 g/plot empty fruit bunch compost of oil palm and 200 g/plot sugarcane filter cake. Parameters for peanuts observed in the research included plant height, number of branches, number of pithy pods, weight of fresh pods, number of seeds, weight of dry seeds, and weight of 100 seeds. The result of experiment showed that K4 treatment of 1000 g/plot of empty palm oil bunches compost and 200 g/plot of sugarcane filter cake had a significant effect on the parameters of weight fresh pods, number of seeds and weight of dry seeds, had no significant effect on parameters of plant height, and number of branches, number of pithy pods, and weight of 100 seeds.
