Abstract

In carrying out routine activities, dentist does treatment which require precission in the relative small area, called oral area, so that it is often to find dentist who did it with wrong position for long time. Implementation of inappropriate ergonomics will lead to the emergence of problems or losses such as injury and skeletal muscle disorders. It is necessary to analyze ergonomic risk in the activities of dentist in specific hospital for dental and oral. This research was a qualitative research aimed to analyze the ergonomic risk level which used Rapid Entire Body (REBA) method. The Identification of ergonomic risk with 5 dentist as respondens found 5 actions which is often done repeatedly and caused by wrong posture. The level of ergonomic risk of this 5 informant dentist based on the final REBA score was largely results high while the ergonomic risk level on the scalling action is moderate and for Suturing is very high. The dental action effectiveness of the dentist in the hospital has the potential for related ergonomic diseases caused from wrong postures that were done statically and repeatedly. It is priority for the dentist to change the behavior and body position while root canal treatment, dental fillings, odontektomi, and suturing.
