Abstract
Pakcoy, chickpeas, and spinach are annual crops that have high economic value. This high economic value is evidenced by the increasing production of vegetable horticultural commodities every year. Planting pakcoy, spinach, and chickpeas with a polyculture cropping pattern are expected to be able to increase the diversity of phytophage species and suppress the population of phytophagous insects that have the potential to become pests. This study aims to determine the diversity of phytophagous species in pakcoy, spinach, and chickpeas grown in monoculture and polyculture. This research was conducted by experimental method. The study was conducted every 7 days for 7 weeks. Phytophagous species that come to the plantations were taken using pantrap and pitfalltrap. The results showed that in monoculture plantations there were few species and many individuals. In polyculture plantations, few individuals and many species were found. The diversity index values of phytophagous species in monoculture and polyculture plantations have relatively the same number, namely 1.302 and 1.239, which means low diversity. The evenness index of phytophagous species in monoculture and polyculture plantations had relatively the same number, namely 0.470 and 0.447, which means low evenness. The dominance index values of phytophagous species in monoculture and polyculture plantations have relatively the same number, namely 0.650 and 0.684, which means that no species dominates the crop. Land of pakcoy, spinach, and chickpeas obtained from polyculture was higher than monoculture with a total weight of 5.8 kg, 2.1 kg, and 8.2 kg.
