Abstract
Catfish (Clarias sp.) is one of the freshwater fish which is one of the commodities that people are interested in. Constraints in cultivation is the presence of disease. In cultivation, both seeding and rearing, Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) disease is often encountered which is caused by the bacterium A. hydrophila. Gynura procumbens are plants that are often used as herbal medicine which is capable of overcoming antimicrobials, to be able to inhibit bacterial growth. This research aimed to determine the effect of G. procumbens leaves extract as a drug for Motile Aeromonas Septicemia in catfish. This research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications. P0, namely catfish infected and not soaked in the extract. P1, namely infected catfish and soaking the extract with a concentration of 1500 mg L-1 . P2, namely infected catfish and soaking the extract with a concentration of 2000 mg L-1. P3, namely infected catfish and soaking the extract with a concentration of 2500 mg L-1. All treatments were immersion for 60 minutes. The best research results were found in the P3 treatment with a concentration of 2500 mg L-1, capable of treating A. hydrophila bacterial infections in catfish. The highest survival value was 96.67%, the percentage of fish recovered was 100%, the highest absolute weight growth was 3.55 g, absolute length growth was 1.29 cm and total leukocytes, erythrocytes, hematocrit, hemoglobin and water quality were still within the normal range.
