Abstract

This thesis is entitled "The Role of Youth Organization in Community Empowerment through Freshwater Fish Farming Program in Tanjung Agung Village, Muara Enim Regency". For farming communities, they are very dependent on rivers to irrigate rice fields and plantations. But because of the seasonal shift, the rainy and dry seasons occur prolonged, this is what causes the income of farmers in Tanjung Agung Village to decrease. It is because of this that Karang taruna Agung Jaya empowers the community through a freshwater fish farming program according to its main tasks and functions. The purpose of this research is to find out what and how the implementation of the main tasks and functions of the Agung Jaya youth organization. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods. The research findings were obtained from primary data in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation, then the data was analyzed using the role theory by Soerjono Soekanto. The results of this study indicate that the Agung Jaya katang taruna has carried out its main tasks and functions according to its role by empowering the farming community in Tanjung Agung Village, Muara Enim Regency.
