Abstract
Prevalence of urine crystallization on the employees section of furnace PT. Vale Indonesia is 40% with temperatures above 280C. The measurement result from heat-work climate in the production of PT. Remco Palembang is 28,30C to 29,50C. This research aimed to analyze between heat-work climate, age, nutritional status, drinking water consumption, length of service, and work location with urine crystallization. This research used cross sectional design with all workers in production as population and 105 workers as sample. The sampling technique in this research used simple random sampling. The data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate chi-square.The results showed the prevalence of positive crystallization of urine was 47,6%. Based on the bivariate analysis, that variables related to urine crystallization is heat-work climate (p-value = 0.017), age (p-value = 0.020), nutritional status (p-value=0.001), drinking water consumption (p-value=0.001), length of service (p-value=0.000), and work location (p-value=0.0017). It can be concluded, all variables in this study have relationship to the occurance of urine crystallization. Suggestions of this study include that workers consume drinking water 20 to 30 minutes once and company providing drinking water that is adequate and accessible to workers.
