Abstract
Lahat District is one of the district in South Sumatra with moderate rainfall intensity of 266 mm/month. This area experienced flash floods caused by high intensity rainfall which resulted in the overflow of the Lematang River. Therefore, rainfall prediction is needed to anticipate the negative impact of high rainfall intensity. This study aims to predict rainfall in Lahat district in the future. The Convolutional neural network algorithm was chosen as the method in this study because it has high accuracy for time series classification. Data used from NASA POWER with the parameters of rainfall, average air temperature, maximum and minimum air temperature, relative and specific air humidity, air pressure, surface wind speed and direction. The result indicate that research produces predictions of future rainfall for Lahat district with fairly good model evaluation results with an accuracy value of 82.94%, 86.60% precision and 91.84% recall.
