Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of circle hurdles training on the results of the long jump ability of class VII men's SMP Negeri 1 Banyuasin 1. The method used in this research is quasy experimental method or quasy experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. The technique of collecting research data is to carry out an initial test (pretest) after that, will be given training for 6 weeks with a frequency of practice 3 times a week (hurdles practice) after being given practice then a final test (posttest) will be carried out. The samples taken were 30 students who actively participated in athletic learning activities in the long jump at SMP Negeri 1 Banyuasin 1. The research instrument was single leg box jumps. From the results of data processing and data analysis using the data normality test and hypothesis testing with the t-test formula, that the circle hurdles practice has an effect on increasing long jump results in class VII boys at SMP Negeri 1 Banyuasin 1. The results of research and data analysis, can be seen from the initial test (pretest) there is an average increase of 9. After testing the hypothesis with the t-test statistic, with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05) and the number of samples (N = 30), tcount is 6.57 while ttable 1.70, then tcount > ttable. The findings from this study are that the circle hurdles practice can improve the results of the long jump ability. The implementation of the results of this study in the circle hurdles exercise had an effect on increasing the results of the men's long jump ability in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Banyuasin 1.
