Abstract

The purpose of this research (1) Calculating the total income of the rubber farming household in Soak Batok Village. (2) Calculating the contribution of rubber farming income to total household income in Soak Batok Village. (3) Identify the standard of decent living needs (KHL) and the standard of minimum basic needs (KPM) comparing them with the total income of rubber farming households in Soak Batok Village. This research was conducted in Soak Batok Village, Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera Province. The location selection was carried out purposively by considering that Soak Batok Village is one of the areas where the majority of the population work as farmers, where the main commodity is rubber. The implementation of this research was carried out in September-December 2022 The sampling method used in this study used the simple random sampling method, where this method is used so that all farmers have the same opportunity to be selected and researched. The selection of the sample under study was adjusted to certain criteria based on research objectives and research problems, there were farmers who run rubber farming on their own land, have a rubber land area of around 0.5-2 ha, and farmers who are already married. The data collected and used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of this study show that: (1) The average household income of rubber farmers in Soak Batok Village is Rp42,279,236.00/year or Rp3,523,270.00/month. (2) The average contribution of rubber farming income to the average household income is 48%, when compared to non-farming income of 44.8%, it is only 3.2%. So it can be concluded that rubber farming income and non-farming income play an equally important role in meeting the needs of farmer households in Soak Batok Village. (3) The average rubber farming family in Soak Batok village is not considered a decent living family or a prosperous family and the average rubber farming family in Soak Batok village barely fulfills their basic needs.
