Abstract

This study aims to find out the role of UN Women in realizing women's economic empowerment in Indonesia in 2010-2022. This study uses the concept of Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) according to Clive Archer as an analytical tool and uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study show that in realizing women's economic empowerment in Indonesia, UN Women acts as an Instrument by implementing the program "Development of models of economic empowerment for women victims of social conflict" and by integrating Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) into policies and business practices in Indonesia. UN Women acts as an Arena by holding the Asia Pacific Regional Consultation in the meeting of CSW 66 with the theme of reviewing "Women's economic empowerment in the changing world of work" and also organizing a sharing session with the theme "WEPS Award High Level Dialogue 2021". Meanwhile, in carrying out its role as an Actor, UN Women has launched "Equality in law for women and girls by 2030: A multistakeholder strategy for accelerated action" and is able to work independently with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KPPPA) as well as with various private sectors.
